NYU Langone Health is seeking a Lactation Specialist - Per Diem to join the perinatal care team. The specialist coordinates and provides education, assistance and support for breastfeeding mothers and infants, aligning with evidence-based standards and public health initiatives.

The role involves program management, data collection, and collaboration with health professionals to promote optimal infant feeding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required.
• Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) required.
• Minimum of five years lactation consultant experience.
• Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Applies research findings that support lactating mothers and/or their breastfeeding babies.
• Participates in the management of the Breast Pump Rental and Supply Program.
• Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.
• Promotes a culture that supports breastfeeding mothers and infants.
