Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island seeks a Per Diem Nurse Coordinator - Lactation to provide breastfeeding education and counseling using clinical expertise. You will mentor teams and share evidence-based lactation practices to improve patient outcomes.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, lead staff development, and ensure high-quality lactation services while supporting hospital goals and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCE) required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Knowledge of standards of practice for all patient care areas.

Responsibilities

• Manages department resources within fiscal guidelines and budgets.
• Leads staff meetings and ensures participation in annual requirements.
• Maintains clinical knowledge and participates in professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Sets and evaluates patient care standards with measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrates accountability in staffing, scheduling and team building.
• Guides development plans and oversees orientation of new staff.
