Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit in Carson City, NV. This per diem role requires delivering safe, family-centered care during labor, delivery and postpartum periods.

The nurse will participate in care planning, monitor fetal health, and support newborn care alongside a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes adherence to nursing standards, patient teaching, and involvement in discharge planning, with opportunities for additional unit

Qualifications

Nevada RN license or Interim Permit required.
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification within six months of hire.
NRP certification within six months of hire or transfer to unit.
STABLE certification within twelve months of hire or transfer to unit.
C-EFM certification within three years of hire or position entry and renewed every three years thereafter.

Responsibilities

Performs assessment and evaluation of the pregnant and postpartum patient including vital signs and fetal monitoring.
Identifies abnormal data and communicates findings to physicians and care team for care planning.
Develops and documents individualized care plans incorporating patient and family in decisions.
Delivers care to the newborn and administers newborn medications, monitoring vital signs.
Delegates and supervises care scheduling for non-professional staff and ensures adherence to policies.
