Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, NV is seeking a Per Diem Laboratory Assistant to join a team devoted to quality and compassion. You will support clerical tasks, help process specimens and handle accurate data entry across pathology, microbiology, hematology and blood bank workflows.

Under supervision, you’ll assist with phlebotomy, maintain supplies and storage areas, and support pathology with training. Requires HS diploma, 1 year lab experience, CPT I/II where required, and BCLS.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-year clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• State Certified as CPT I or CPT II if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties, telephone communication and data entry.
• Demonstrates knowledge of tests ordered in the laboratory.
• Handles specimen collection processes and phlebotomy basics.
• Maintains storage areas, trays and collection areas clean and organized.
• Assists in pathology with training and evaluation; runner when needed.
