Job summary

Project Genesis, Inc. is seeking a Job Coach / Employment Specialist to empower individuals with disabilities in community settings around Hartford, CT. This per diem role offers flexible hours and hands-on training to help clients develop workplace skills and independence.

You will assess abilities, tailor instruction, and support communication and teamwork to ensure clients’ success in real-world job environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1+ year in human services, job coaching, mentoring, or education.
• Bachelor’s degree and willingness to complete our training program.
• Must be 18 years or older and have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Teach and model workplace skills for independence and job success.
• Assess abilities and tailor training to each person’s unique learning style.
• Coach communication and teamwork skills for on-the-job success.
• Develop customized training plans using adaptive tools or multisensory techniques.
• Document progress and collaborate with Program Managers to ensure client thriving.
• Celebrate victories — big and small — as clients reach milestones toward independence.
