Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City, NV is seeking an inpatient Registered Nurse for the Oncology unit on a per diem basis. You will deliver safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of the department manager, supervisor, and charge nurse, applying the full nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

Required: NV RN license or Interim Permit and BLS, with BSN preferred. Oncology certifications and chemotherapy experience are desirable; successful completion of crisis intervention

Qualifications

• NV RN license or Interim Permit required.
• BLS certification required.
• BSN preferred.
• Oncology certification or chemotherapy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Carson Tahoe Health policies, procedures, and unit standards of care.
• Attends 75% of scheduled staff meetings and completes required education.
• Maintains license and certifications; keeps skills current.
• Identifies changes in patient condition and communicates with care team.
• Performs bedside handovers per organizational standards.
• Provides patient teaching to patient and family; develops and implements care plans.
• Responds effectively to urgent or emergency situations.
