Job summary

Fresno Surgical Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in the operating room to deliver direct patient care and assist the surgical team. The role involves continuous communication with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Responsibilities include equipment preparation, aseptic technique, patient positioning, and postoperative handoffs. Requires California RN license, ACLS/BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Two years of nursing experience and/or training.
• California Registered Nursing License; ACLS and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room.
• Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient condition.
• Assist during operative procedures and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Maintain OR readiness and inventory; ensure safety and readiness for cases.
• Document care, monitor patient status and outcomes.
• Uphold aseptic technique and infection control throughout procedures.
• Prepare patient, position safely and assist with draping and transfers.
