Job summary

University of Miami invites applications for a Per Diem Staff Physician in the Division of Hospital Medicine. The clinician provides direct inpatient medical care to adult patients on medical and surgical services and participates in education for students and residents.

The role includes leading an educational or administrative project within the division, with expectations of weekend, night, and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must maintain CME to meet licensing requirements.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and safety standards.
• Strong communication with staff, patients, and families.
• Ability to lead educational or administrative projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct care to adult non-surgical hospitalized patients.
• Consultation for hospitalized patients on any service.
• Coordinate internal medicine subspecialty care.
• Telephone consultation for non-service unit patients.
• Participation in quality improvement activities.
• Participation in committee work.
• Medical student, resident and fellow education involvement.
• Provide leadership for academic projects in education, quality and safety.
