Job summary

Summit Health Infusion Center is seeking a Per Diem Infusion Pharmacy Technician to ensure high-quality infusion preparation and compliance with USP-800 guidelines. The role requires NY Board of Pharmacy Technician registration, CPhT with PTCB, and at least two years of hospital experience including IV compounding.

You will review prescriptions, compound medications, handle hazardous drugs, and maintain QA and inventory logs.

Qualifications

• Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and required ingredients.
• Compound chemotherapeutic and other medications using proper aseptic technique.
• Assess medication identity, strength, and purity.
• Handle hazardous drugs following OSHA/NIOSH guidelines.
• Perform calculations for accurate drug measurements.
• Maintain procedures for packaging, labeling, and disposal per policy.
• Enter medications in the Nucleus System and monitor inventories.
• Participate in training and QA logs.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and ingredients.
• Compound medications using aseptic technique in infusion settings.
• Maintain QA logs, temperature and waste logs, and inventory records.
• Assist with ordering supplies and restocking medications.
• Enter and remove medications in the Nucleus System and ensure proper disposal.
• Provide training support to new staff and ensure policy compliance.
