Job summary

Town of Nantucket’s Our Island Home seeks a per diem housekeeping and/or laundry worker. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing the facility, operating laundry equipment, and providing excellent service to residents and staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic English, reliable infection control knowledge, and physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs while standing or walking most of the day.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. Basic English communication required.
• Infection control knowledge is required.
• Must be able to operate washing machines, dryers and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary facility for residents, visitors and staff.
• Operate laundry equipment to clean residents' clothing and linens; perform related duties.
