Job summary

UC Irvine Health in Los Alamitos is seeking a Clinical Associate Hospitalist for inpatient coverage, primarily at the UCI site in Los Alamitos Hospital. The physician will provide general hospital medicine care, supervise staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires an MD/DO, California licensure eligibility, DEA certification, and efficient handling of rounds, notes, and collaborations with other departments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
• Leadership skills; ability to motivate, inspire, communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team-based approach in the care of patients.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care coverage for Medicine services and conduct rounds with the care team.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine and Intensivists; hospitalists will not serve as primary admitting providers.
• Ensure timely completion of patient notes within 24 hours and maintain medical record standards.
