Job summary

Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME is seeking a per diem Security Officer to join its Security Services Team. The role involves patrolling and monitoring the hospital environment, and wearing a ballistic vest and body camera as part of a uniformed post.

You will work with staff and patients, remain calm under pressure, and help prevent incidents while deescalating as needed. A high school diploma, BLS certification, CPI training, and a valid driver’s license are required or obtainable within

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred and certification within one year may be required.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• CPI or similar de-escalation training to be completed within local Health System requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents.
• Deescalate incidents as they emerge and provide protective services as needed.
• May provide patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
