Job summary

UW Medical Center–Northwest is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for per diem, rotating shifts in Seattle. The role focuses on accurate dispensing, direct patient care, and collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize therapy while adhering to policies and safety standards.

The pharmacist will supervise non‑pharmacist staff, participate in quality assurance, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission guidelines. A current WA license or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• ASHP‑accredited residency or fellowship (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• At least 3 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current Washington State pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain license.
• Experience in hospital medication distribution and safety practices recommended.

Responsibilities

• Engage in accurate medication preparation and dispensing.
• Provide direct patient care and collaborate with care teams.
• Promote safe, effective medication use per formulary and Therapeutics Committee guidance.
• Oversee non-pharmacist staff in the department and ensure compliance with policies.
