Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Encinitas team on a per diem basis. You will help coordinate and prepare volume meals for patients, cafeteria, and events, while adhering to safe handling and sanitation standards.

The role supports inventory and menu development, ensures portion control and quality, and works a varied schedule including weekends. Minimum 6 months experience or culinary program graduation; ServSafe or Food Handlers credential

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in quantity food preparation or graduation from an approved culinary program.
• Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate or able to pass Food Handlers Test given by verified manager or designee.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare a volume production of meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering/special events
• Follow safe food handling practices and infection control standards
• Assist with inventory management and menu development/modification
• Ensure portion control and quality of meals
