Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized outpatient hand therapy services primarily at Hillcrest outpatient locations. The role may float to other UC San Diego Health outpatient rehab clinics as needed to meet operational demands.

The OT will evaluate and treat patients with hand and upper-extremity conditions, collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy and active California OT license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• Experience in outpatient hand therapy or related orthopedic settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services as a Certified Hand Therapist, including evaluation and treatment of hand/upper-extremity conditions.
• Manage a caseload of routine and complex orthopedic diagnoses in an outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in training, program development, and quality improvement activities.
• Represent Rehabilitation Services to patients, families, physicians, and community.
• Float to other UC San Diego Health outpatient rehab clinics as needed.
