Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant to support the General Surgery Clinic. The role involves outpatient care, in-clinic minor procedures, wound care, and occasional OR assistance under supervising physicians.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nurses and ambulatory staff, ordering diagnostic tests, and educating patients and families. The position is per diem with about 10 hours weekly, primarily in Boston with monthly travel to Waltham.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a PA program.
• One year of PA experience preferred.
• Massachusetts PA license required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support in General Surgery outpatient clinic and OR as needed.
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostics to guide care.
• Diagnose and manage pediatric and adult surgical patients with supervising physician.
• Document assessments, plans, and follow-up care.
• Assist with phone triage and referrals to specialists.
• Perform minor office procedures and wound care.
• Support Pilonidal Care and Hidradenitis programs as appropriate.
• Develop health care plans and educate patients and families.
• Per diem schedule, approx. 10 hours/week, travel to Waltham location monthly.
