Job summary

Rogerson Communities in Norton, MA is seeking a Resident Care Assistant/CNA/HHA/PCA on a per diem basis. Under the Director of Nursing, you will assist residents with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support medication reminders in a compassionate, person-centered environment.

Responsibilities include helping with ADLs, mobility, documenting care, supporting recreation, and collaborating with the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts CNA license or HHA/PCA certificate.
• Current CPR certification.
• A minimum of 2 yrs direct service experience with the elderly.
• Knowledge of, and/or, 1 yr. of experience working with people with Alzheimer’s Disease and/or related disorders; sensitivity to aging.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to be flexible with scheduling and work assignments, as well as the ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs, including toileting, bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Assist residents with ambulation and mobility devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
• Help residents with medications under supervision; cue reminders to take meds.
• Document in record-keeping systems (diabetic list, dietary needs book, daily communications book).
• Assist care planning meetings and contribute to care plans.
• Escort residents to medical appointments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and common areas; ensure supplies are stocked.
• Observe and report unsanitary conditions or safety hazards; notify Nursing Director.
