Responsibilities

• Responsible for all EEG recordings: Awake, asleep, bedside and video EEGs.
• Summarizes neurologic status and clinical history; explains recording procedures to patients.
• Adapts methods to keep patient calm for optimal results and artifact-free EEGs.
• Removes residue, dries and combs hair.
• Writes clinical observations during seizures and emergencies.
• Logs and records diagnoses and technician reports; stamps and files in reading room.
• Ensures electrical safety; maintains equipment and reports major problems.
• Keeps EEG room clean; cleans equipment and paste containers.
• Participates in conferences and educational activities when possible.
• Performs other duties as requested.
