Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Tucson is seeking a per diem Emergency Department RN to provide patient-centered care in a Level III Trauma setting. You will assess patients, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to deliver safe, evidence-based treatment.

The role requires 1+ year(s) of ED RN experience, active RN licensure, BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and strong communication skills to educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in the state or compact licensure
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• ED nursing experience and strong assessment skills required
• Proficient in medication administration and patient care documentation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED and respond to emergencies

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process across ED protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, document findings, and report changes in condition.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects per standards.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Collaborate with the care team to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and code team involvement.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Ensure infection control and maintain a safe environment; document care promptly.
