Job summary

Chenango Memorial Hospital – Norwich, NY is seeking an experienced Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. This role offers a per diem schedule with flexible hours and competitive hourly pay in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity ED setting.

You will work alongside physicians, APPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Active NYS license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required.
• Prior Emergency Department or urgent care experience strongly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, decision‑making, and procedural skills.
• Excellent communication and patient‑care abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a busy Emergency Department.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and urgent conditions.
• Perform appropriate procedures within scope.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, and ancillary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
