Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a Substitute Teacher- Early Education (PRN) at the Huntington YMCA. This part-time/per diem role supports the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities and ensures a safe, inclusive environment for children across branches.

You will collaborate with families, document progress, and contribute to healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development while modeling YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Working toward EEC certification.
• First Aid and CPR certification required when applicable.
• Experience in family engagement and community relations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe as a top priority in a family-friendly, inclusive environment.
• Model YMCA values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities for social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language growth.
• Supervise transitions and manage classroom space with the Lead Teacher.
• Coordinate with families through progress reports and parent communications.
• Deliver a well-rounded curriculum aligned with developmental goals.
