Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno, NV, is seeking a per diem Diet Aide to join the Food & Nutrition Services team under the supervision of the Director, Supervisor, or Lead.

You will prepare patient meals per diet orders and approved recipes, ensure food safety with proper hand hygiene and temperature control, and assist with stocking trayline and nourishment areas. This role supports acute rehabilitation and dining services while offering flexible per diem scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent, preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Foodservice experience, or equivalent nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items and patient meal trays based on diet order, approved recipes and patient meal tickets.
• Uses proper techniques to ensure food safety including hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring/control, cleaning and sanitizing.
• Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas and nourishment rooms.
