Job description

St. Luke's University Health Network, the region's largest and most established health system, a major teaching hospital, and one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals, is seeking a passionate per diem BC/BE Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician to join our dedicated team of physicians providing excellent care at St. Luke's University Health Network / St. Luke's Children's Hospital.

St. Luke's pediatrics department is growing and expanding its services. We are seeking providers excited by growth and new opportunities.

Highlights include:
  1. Developmental Pediatrics practice: Designed to meet the needs of patients in this specialty, including Quiet and Observation rooms for assessments. Supported by a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Social Worker, with additional specialty support such as pediatric behavioral health, neurology, PT/OT/ST.
  2. Establishment of St. Luke's Children's Hospital: Announced in 2023 at the Bethlehem Campus, part of the Children's Hospital Association, reflecting decades of growth and investment in pediatrics.
  3. Comprehensive pediatric services: Including inpatient, neonatal, emergency medicine, and specialty and primary care providers across multiple practice locations. The network also has a strong base of family practice providers across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  4. Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: An 8-bed unit opened in 2020, staffed by critical care intensivists and pediatric nurses, receiving admissions from 12 hospital campuses.
  5. Pediatric Emergency Department: A 6-bed unit expanding to 11 beds upon completion of ongoing construction.
  6. Specialty support: Over 40 pediatric specialty areas, many located at St. Luke's Pediatric Specialty Center, the region's only freestanding building dedicated to pediatric services.
  7. Obstetrics and Neonatology: The region's most robust OB program, delivering nearly 5,000 babies annually, with Level III NICUs at multiple campuses.
  8. Network scope: A 12-hospital network serving over 320,000 emergency patients annually across a diverse geographic area.
