Job summary

Summa Rehab Hospital in Akron, Ohio (in partnership with Ernest Health) is seeking a per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. You will support inpatient rehab focused on stroke recovery, brain and spinal injuries, and orthopedic care, under an occupational therapist.

The role emphasizes patient progress documentation, adherence to safety and infection control, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a COTA per state guidelines.
• Current Basic Life Support/CPR card required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of an occupational therapist, provides rehabilitative services to individuals with physical impairments. Monitors the patient's program and records patient's progress for the occupational therapist. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
