Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, NY. You will select therapy activities per the plan of care and assist residents with daily tasks.

You'll monitor progress, teach equipment use, collaborate with the OT on rehab plans, and enjoy mentorship, CEU reimbursement, flexible schedules, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.
• Per diem availability.
• Ability to collaborate with therapy team.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & con-tributes to team effort
