Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work at Amsterdam Nursing Home in New York, NY. This role offers flexibility, mentorship, and access to advanced rehab facilities as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualified candidates have graduated from an accredited OTA program and hold a current New York State OTA license. Per diem positions provide opportunities to support residents' daily activities and rehab plans with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contribute to team effort.

Education
