Job summary

East Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Pier Diem Cook to join our dietary department. You will prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, and collaborate with the foodservice team to ensure high-quality service for residents.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring food safety, delivering excellent resident care, and supporting inventory and ordering processes. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends/holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Ensure the quality and presentation of all food and beverages served.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to sanitation standards.
• Restock and reorder supplies and ingredients as needed.
• Collaborate with the foodservice team for efficient meal service and delivery.
• Participate in inventory management and ordering of supplies and ingredients.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
