Job summary

Penobscot Valley Hospital is seeking a per diem Certified Nursing Assistant to cover shifts as needed. The position is non-exempt and hourly, with a minimum commitment of 3 shifts within 3 months.

A Maine CNA certification and BLS are required, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in English. Responsibilities include patient care, vital signs, monitoring, documentation in the EMR, and collaboration with RNs and the care team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to establish priorities and work with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Listens to shift report and collects data to complete assignments.
• Reviews care plans and nursing orders and performs vital signs and measurements.
• Assists with personal care, meals, and patient mobility as needed.
• Documents care in the electronic medical record and attends staff meetings.
• Responds to call bells promptly and supports chart preparation and transfer information.
