Job summary

MemorialCare is a nonprofit integrated health system serving Orange and Los Angeles Counties with over 200 sites of care. We seek a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Per Diem for the Microbiology department in Long Beach, working a Day shift.

The role involves performing and reporting specialized medical laboratory tests and ensuring accuracy. You will calibrate instruments, interpret results, maintain equipment, and assist training.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of training as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required.
• Previous work experience as a licensed CLS and ASCP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates instruments and ensures test accuracy and quality control.
• Reads and interprets test results across hematology, biochemistry, serology, and microbiology.
• Develops recording systems and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains and adjusts equipment and prepares reagents.
• Assists in training and orientation of new technologists.
• Directs non-licensed staff per state regulations.
• Communicates results to clinical personnel.
