Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to oversee prescription renewal processing within state and federal guidelines, authorizing or elevating renewals and optimizing therapy through collaboration with physicians and the clinical team.

You will contribute to patient- and provider-satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and serving as a liaison among patients, physicians, and pharmacies, within a culture of patient-focused care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience.
  • Washington Pharmacist License upon hire; Board of Pharmacy Preceptor License when eligible.
  • 3 years Pharmacy practice experience with at least 2 years of related experience in lieu of PGY-1.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee processing of prescription renewal requests within state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, licensed/unlicensed caregivers, and clinical programs to optimize medication therapy.
  • Act as liaison between patients, physicians, and pharmacies to ensure high-quality service.

Job Description

The Clinical Pharmacist in this role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of processing individual prescription renewal requests. This position operates within the framework of state and federal regulations, using established guidelines and protocols to authorize or elevate prescription renewals. This role is part of a diverse healthcare team and works collaboratively with physicians, licensed and unlicensed caregivers, and other clinical pharmacy department programs to optimize medication therapy. The Clinical Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring high levels of patient and provider satisfaction through exceptional customer service and acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, and pharmacies.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in PHARMACY from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Or
  • PharmD in PHARMACY from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Coursework/Training: Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience. Or
  • Upon hire: Washington Pharmacist License
    • Notes:
      (1) Board of Pharmacy Preceptor License - when eligible and where applicable
  • 3 years Pharmacy practice experience with at least 2 years of related experience in lieu of Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
