Job summary

The role reports to a Professional Development Manager and emphasizes adult learning, clinical expertise, and collaboration across disciplines to promote safe patient care. Responsibilities include orientation, skills training, competency assessment, and mentoring.

Qualifications

• MSN (or) DNP (or) PhD required.
• Current certification required or to be attained within two-year period from date of hire.
• Current nursing licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a clinical nurse with leadership progression.
• Competency in adult learning principles and a sound clinical nursing knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Assist with central classes and orientation activities as needed.
• Participate in educational needs assessments and identify learning needs of patients and staff.
• Facilitate opportunities and developmental experiences for staff to precept, teach, and mentor others.
• Facilitate educational offerings for new initiatives, products, equipment, policies, procedures, or regs in various settings.
• Track and monitor orientation progress for nursing hires.
