Job summary

Virtua Health seeks a part-time, per diem Teacher Assistant for the Child Development Center in Voorhees. The role supports infant and toddler classrooms, assists with materials, daily activities, and supervision, and helps ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and completion of ECE units within a year; two+ years in child care preferred, with knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and open communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of formal experience in child care setting.
• High school diploma is required; willing to complete ECE units within one year.
• Meets minimum state licensing preparation and experience for Teacher Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Supervises children indoors and outdoors with positive discipline per NAEYC standards.
• Supports development with age-appropriate language, activities, and learning approaches.
• Maintains open, positive communication with teachers, staff, parents and Virtua clientele; protects confidentiality.
• Assists in cleanliness of classroom, playground and center.
• Assists in preparation of materials and follow-through on activities.
