Job summary

North Austin Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, has a per diem PRN opportunity for a Certified Surgical Tech. Under RN direction, you will assist in safe operating room care, scrubbing and aiding the surgeon at the operative field, and ensuring turnover and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include maintaining asepsis, preparing the OR, and coordinating with the supervisor to ensure necessary items are available for upcoming cases.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or state regulatory requirement.
• Surgical Tech Certification is required or preferred per facility practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scrubbing and assisting the surgeon at the operative field.
• Prepare the operative suite and gather supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain surgical asepsis in handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Assist in turnover of OR suites between cases and cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day and report missing items to supervisor.
