The per diem CAT/MRI Technician operates Computed Tomography (CT) scanner or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to capture images to aid in patient diagnoses. Performs basic to highly complex MRI/CAT scans according to established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Performs CT/MRI exams utilizing established protocols.
- Captures images onto PACS Systems and transfer images to physician work stations.
- Evaluates images prior to the release of patient to ensure quality.
- Participates in the performance and documentation of quality control measures.
- Ensures the safety and comfort of the patient, family members and other employees.
- Provided patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and equipment to comply with established infection control and department standards.
- Informs appropriate personnel of any equipment failure and documents type of problem and any associated downtime.
- Display personal attributes of compassion, competence and concern in meeting the needs of the patient.
- Communicates effectively with patients, other employees and the general public.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiology Program
- All CT/MRI technologists are required to be DOH certified to inject iv contrast.
- Certified to inject technologists must be able to complete injection tasks as to protocol.
- 0-2 years experience as a CT/MRI technician

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60 - $62 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
