Job summary

PACS is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, and equipment, ensuring sanitation and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Healthcare housekeeping experience is a plus; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous healthcare/long-term care housekeeping experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand procedures and directions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
