The Cardiovascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing cardiac and interventional examinations as required by staff physicians.

Essential Job Functions
- Provides technologist services for Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and vascular imaging.
- Works with the PACS system.
- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
- Prepares patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and setting up sterile fields in conjunction with procedures.
- Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam-restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, and following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs such as contrast media.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures regular and prompt attendance at work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability
- Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certification in Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) and/or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) within three years of hire.
- Previous experience working in a Cath Lab/IR Lab is required.
- Must possess a Wisconsin radiographer license.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- BLS certification required upon hire.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills for safe patient care and documentation.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and professional development activities.
- Awareness of professional standards and adherence to them.
