Job summary

Mass General Brigham Hyannis Cardiology is seeking a Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer to support onsite coverage with a minimum of 2 eight-hour shifts per month. The role involves high-quality TTEs, patient histories review, and timely communication of findings to physicians.

Applicants should hold an AS degree in Sonography, be BLS certified, and be registered (RCS or RDCS). NH licensure may be required for NH locations, and prior sonography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Sonography preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• RCS through CCI or RDCS through ARDMS required.
• Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred.
• New Hampshire Medical Imaging License upon hire for NH locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and portable studies with diagnostic-quality images.
• Review patient history and prior imaging to ensure proper exam protocols.
• Prepare preliminary reports and communicate findings to interpreting physicians.
• Maintain equipment and exam rooms; adhere to infection prevention and safety policies.
• Support patient experience with proper positioning and ergonomics during scanning.
• Assist with scheduling, workflow, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.

Education

Associate's degree in Sonography

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS
