Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• DONA or CAPPA certification completed in person.
• Excellent communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Attends laboring women for entire labor duration, 12–24 hours.
• Provides comfort measures: positioning, massage, hydration, rest.
• Supports patients' families throughout labor process.
• Facilitates birth plans in collaboration with patient and medical team.
• On call 24/7 on a rotating schedule.
• Supports mother/infant bonding: skin-to-skin, breastfeeding.
• Conducts scheduled patient tours of the facility and assists childbirth educators.
• Attends monthly staff and committee meetings; assists with administrative tasks.
• Fulfills all hospital compliance responsibilities related to the role.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
