Job summary

Rutgers University seeks a per diem anesthesiologist for The Department of Anesthesiology at NJMS. Expect to provide on-site anesthesia services to pediatric through adult patients at multiple OR locations and participate in resident teaching.

The appointment requires board-certified or eligible status, a medical doctorate, and NJ licensure eligibility. Per diem terms and flexible consideration align with department needs and funding.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible.
• Medical doctorate or equivalent.
• Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
• Be a BC or BE Anesthesiologist.
• Candidates on an H1-B VISA are welcome to apply.
• Effective day of appointment is 11/1/2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site anesthesia services (pediatric to adult) at The University Hospital and other locations.
• Provide intraoperative teaching of residents.
• Complete medical records within 7 days of service.
• Submit charges within 14 days of service.
• Complete Medicare studies and related documents as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair.
