Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking an Operations Engineer / Production Scientist to support peptide manufacturing at our Menlo Park site. This role focuses on SPPS, purification, and lyophilization, acting as a technical process owner and collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to boost yield and throughput.

The ideal candidate has GMP manufacturing experience, strong data analysis skills, and a hands-on mindset to drive lean improvements in a fast-growing biotech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of GMP manufacturing or related chemical processing experience.
• Hands-on experience with GMP investigations, process validation, and batch records.
• Direct experience with Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical process owner for peptide manufacturing operations, including SPPS, purification, and lyophilization.
• Provide real-time technical troubleshooting on the floor during batch execution.
• Monitor critical process parameters and KPIs for peptide manufacturing.
• Collect, analyze, and trend data to identify yield losses, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain dashboards tracking yield, cycle time, solvent usage, throughput, and right-first-time metrics.
• Evaluate coupling, resin performance, deprotection, and impurity trends related to SPPS performance.
• Identify and implement improvements to reaction conditions, cycle parameters, and process controls.
• Lead or support investigations related to excursions, deviations, and CAPAs.
