Job summary

Hartmann Young Limited seeks a Managing Director & Site Head to lead a US peptide manufacturing operation undergoing expansion. You will own site strategy, operating performance and leadership development while guiding the readiness of a new facility.

The role requires a seasoned executive with strong peptide manufacturing background, regulatory know-how and hands-on capital expansion experience. This is a high-impact, site-level leadership assignment within a global CDMO.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in pharma, chemical, or CDMO manufacturing.
• Strong peptide manufacturing experience, ideally in CDMO or commercial API settings.
• Proven responsibility for site P&L, budgets and strategic planning.
• Experience supporting major capital expansions, startups, and qualification/validation.
• Knowledge of peptide technology transfer and scale-up processes.
• Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, ICH and safety regulations.
• Ability to build high-performing leadership teams and manage change.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the site, ensuring safe, compliant operations.
• Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy aligned with capacity and demand.
• Lead readiness and startup of a new peptide manufacturing facility, including staffing and systems.
• Oversee site financial performance with P&L accountability and budgets.
• Drive manufacturing efficiency, asset utilization and continuous improvement.
• Build the site leadership team and manage succession planning.
• Oversee technology transfer, scale-up, and manufacturing readiness with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with capital project leadership on design, commissioning, qualification and handover.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, ICH, EHS and process safety requirements.
• Align existing operations with new facilities and organizational structures.
• Partner with commercial leadership on capacity planning and profitability.
