Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement is seeking a Manager for Operations & Manufacturing to work within the PEPI team.

The role focuses on improving manufacturing and distribution operations for portfolio companies, with a deep emphasis on cost reduction, lean implementation, and transformation programs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional industry experience, including at least 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in one or more: Supply Chain, Manufacturing Ops, Footprint optimization, plant consolidation, product line transfer, CapEx planning, Lean/Six Sigma/TOC, Value Engineering.
• Demonstrated track record working with C‑suite executives and private equity deal partners.
• Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills including process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Experience designing and leading execution of change/communication strategies.
• Previous strategy and change management experience.
• MBA a plus.

• Gain understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing and team capability.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review data to understand efficiency, capacity, equipment conditions and production numbers.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or facility consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans to drive changes and identify risks and mitigations.
• Oversee quality of deliverables and manage the team and day-to-day relationships.

A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice, with offices throughout the US, serves middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms. Our professionals develop deep functional skills and tailor solutions to clients’ business issues. We provide tools for cost improvements, transformations, mergers, acquisitions, and carve‑outs. Operations professionals analyze manufacturing operations, supply chain, procurement, SG&A, and sales effectiveness to identify value creation opportunities.\

How You Will Contribute\

• Gain comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing and team capability\

• Experience designing and leading the execution of internally‑focused and externally‑focused change/communications strategy\

• Previous strategy and change management experience\

The salary range is $125,000–$190,000 annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.\
