Mavis Tires & Brakes is hiring General Service Technicians to join our Portage, MI automotive service centers. This is a full-time role with paid training and opportunities to advance within the nation’s largest automotive service organization.

You will perform essential tire and maintenance tasks, work with experienced teammates, and earn competitive weekly pay plus incentives. We offer benefits and a stable team environment in the Kalamazoo area.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on automotive environment.
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service.
• Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. Paid training is provided.

Responsabilités

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.

About the General Service Technician Position

As a General Service Technician, you'll perform essential maintenance and tire services that help keep our customers safely on the road. You'll work alongside experienced automotive professionals while developing valuable hands‑on skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Performing flat tire repairs
• Completing oil and filter changes
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area

Physical Requirements

General Service Technicians must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive and tire service. Technicians must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
