Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic for our Chicago Ridge, IL service center. In this full-time role you will inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicles, perform oil changes, brake work, tire services, and inspections as needed to keep customers safely on the road.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to keep customers safely on the road
• Perform undercar repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, and related components
• Perform oil and filter changes and check fluid levels
• Replace worn or damaged parts as needed
• Complete state inspections where applicable (if required)
• Mount, rotate, and balance tires and maintain safety and quality standards

We're looking for experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to join Team Mavis at our automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the Chicago Ridge, IL area.

About the Position

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to help keep our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, shocks, suspension, and steering
• Diagnosing vehicle maintenance and repair needs
• Performing oil and filter changes and checking fluids
• Replacing worn or damaged parts
• Completing state inspections, where applicable
• Mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Maintaining Mavis standards for quality, safety, and customer service

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Preferred:

State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications, including Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

Automotive Mechanics must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive repair. Mechanics must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
