Job summary

Pep Boys, now part of the Mavis Tire family, is expanding its automotive service centers in Hodgkins, IL. We are seeking experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicles and to help keep customers safely on the road.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of automotive repair experience or training.
• State inspections license and ASE certifications preferred.
• Must have personal tools to perform repairs.

Responsibilities

• Undercar repairs including brakes, suspension, steering.
• Diagnose vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
• Perform oil changes and fluid checks.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Conduct state inspections where applicable.
• Mount, rotate, and balance tires.
• Maintain quality, safety, and customer service standards.

We're looking for experienced, full-time Automotive Mechanic to join Team Mavis at our automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the Hodgkins, IL area.

About the Position

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll inspect, diagnose, and perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services to help keep our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, shocks, suspension, and steering
• Diagnosing vehicle maintenance and repair needs
• Performing oil and filter changes and checking fluids
• Replacing worn or damaged parts
• Completing state inspections, where applicable
• Mounting, rotating, and balancing tires
• Maintaining Mavis standards for quality, safety, and customer service

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have at least 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Have the personal tools necessary to perform automotive and undercar repairs

Preferred:

State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications, including Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

Automotive Mechanics must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with automotive repair. Mechanics must also be able to regularly lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds.
