Job summary

Christ Church in Phoenix is seeking a Congregational Lead Pastor for the Peoria Campus to cast vision, shepherd the congregation, and lead the campus pastoral team. This role centers on pastoral leadership, weekend services, and strategic growth across multiple ministries.

You will preach expository sermons, oversee weekend services, and collaborate with the central team to defend sound doctrine while building a vibrant, disciple‑making culture on the Peoria campus.

Qualifications

• Exceptional communicator and preacher/teacher.
• Strategic leadership and detail-oriented organization.
• High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and people smarts.
• Ability to carry a central vision while contextualizing it for the local congregation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary stage leader, vision carrier, and influencer for the Peoria congregation.
• Deliver expository and application-driven sermons.
• Ensure the pulpit ministry and discipleship are consistent with the theology, philosophy, and excellence of Christ Church.
• Pastoral oversight responsibility of the weekend services, ensuring every aspect of the gathering aligns with the documents of Christ Church.
• Function as a relationally accessible pastor who ensures the congregation feels known and loved.
• Pursue the assimilation, spiritual formation, and mobilization of the congregation.
• Care for individuals to pursue Christ-likeness and reinforce behaviors and values associated with Christ Church.
• Personally engage in relationships with members for the benefit of their discipleship.
• Act as the leader among equals on the campus pastoral team.
• Identify, recruit, and develop qualified, likeminded leaders at the campus, including pastors and deacons.
• Partner with other members of the central pastoral team to defend sound doctrine and engage in a unified mission.
