Job description

About Megaport

We're not your typical tech company – and we don't want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We're publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We're a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone's voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We're committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don't meet every requirement? That's okay. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

The Role

Based out of HQ in Brisbane, the People Partner will report to the Head of People & Culture. In this global role, you'll collaborate with leaders across APAC, NAM, and EMEA regions to support Megaport’s growth. You'll lead, coach, and engage stakeholders, and support the execution of both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day operations.

What You'll Be Doing

As a trusted People Partner based in Brisbane, you'll partner with leaders across APAC to deliver practical people solutions that drive business performance and an exceptional employee experience. Working closely with the Head of People & Culture, you'll provide expert advice across the employee lifecycle, build leadership capability, and deliver people initiatives that support our global business. Your focus will be on:

Business Partnering & Leadership Coaching
  • Own the People Partnering relationships for assigned business groups, delivering commercially balanced people advice that aligns people strategy with business priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders; provide coaching on people-related matters, including performance, employee engagement, organisational change and team effectiveness.
  • Coach leaders to build high-performing, engaged teams. Build manager capability through coaching, guidance and practical tools that enable confident people leadership.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, talent development, succession planning and organisational design initiatives.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and business transformation activities across APAC.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Manage complex employee relations matters across APAC, including performance management, misconduct, grievances and workplace conflict resolution.
  • Coach leaders through performance management and conduct conversations, ensuring timely, fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice people management across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with Legal to manage employment-related risk and complex workplace matters.
  • Ensure consistent application of People policies, frameworks and governance across the business.
People Programs & Employee Experience
  • Partner with the People team to deliver initiatives across leadership development, talent management, succession planning and career development.
  • Support the delivery of employee engagement, onboarding, recognition and wellbeing programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Champion Megaport's values and support initiatives that strengthen inclusion, belonging and employee wellbeing, utilising employee feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
People Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Take a hands-on approach when partnering with leaders to implement People programs, including performance management, talent reviews, remuneration, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support the business on global mobility matters, including relocation, immigration and associated people processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of People systems, policies, processes and reporting.
  • Manage and contribute to People & Culture projects aligned with the team's strategic priorities.
  • Mentor and support other members of the People & Culture team, sharing knowledge and promoting collaboration.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
  • 7-10 years' experience in a People Partner or Senior HR Generalist role within fast-paced organisations.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders across multiple countries, employment jurisdictions, and business functions.
  • Strong experience managing complex employee relations matters and providing commercially balanced advice.
  • Experience managing a small team, mentoring colleagues or leading project teams is desirable.
  • Experience in technology, SaaS or other fast-paced, high-growth environments is highly regarded.
Skills & Capabilities
  • Strong business partnering and coaching capability.
  • Excellent working knowledge of people practices and employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance commercial outcomes with employee experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • High level of resilience and adaptability.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
