Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a People Operation Partner.

Location: Remote in CA

Salary is between $80,000-$85,000

Position Details:

Partners with and collaborates with operations to ensure strong communication with staff, facilitating manager/employee relationships, and ensuring that appropriate resolutions are being recommended regarding corrective actions, investigations, and HR policies. Provides consultative advice and education for reducing the risk of legal pitfalls, while promoting a positive work environment.

  • Facilitate the timely resolution of employee relations issues, including investigations, research, communication with involved parties, and outlining next steps.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leadership and employees through coaching, advising, and empowering them to resolve challenging people issues.
  • Conduct and coordinate internal investigations into allegations such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, etc., to facilitate prompt and fair resolutions.
  • Develop tools, resources, and solutions with operations to improve employee experience and mitigate legal risks.
  • Maintain confidential employee relations electronic files and document and track via the HR Case Tracker.
  • Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with HR policies through coaching, presentations, and training.
  • Analyze HR trends and collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and develop proactive strategies, programs, and policies.
  • Implement retention strategies based on local, divisional, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Support management in performance management, including performance improvement, corrective actions, and termination processes.
  • Respond to EEOC and other third-party charges, applying knowledge of employment laws. Prepare position statements in collaboration with the People Operations Manager and legal department.
  • Address education and training opportunities regarding employment relations issues with management and staff.
  • Support the accommodation process by partnering with leadership to address employee requests, in accordance with policies and laws.
  • Participate in establishing and refining HR policies and practices.
  • Support operations and collaborate with the Labor Relations department on grievances and mediation.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Bachelors in HR or business preferred.
  • Masters in HR or business preferred.
  • SHRM/HRCI certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in HR/Employee Relations or 5 years of relevant generalist experience.
  • Ability to handle difficult subjects and have challenging conversations.
  • Working knowledge of employment law at the federal level, with the ability to interpret updates and changes at all levels.
