Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People Operations Generalist based in United States.

As a People Operations Generalist, you will own the systems and processes that support employees throughout their journey, from onboarding through offboarding. You will play a central role in building scalable people operations infrastructure within a rapidly growing, AI-native environment. Your responsibilities will span onboarding, offboarding, human resources systems, benefits, compliance, work authorization, and people programs. You will combine hands-on execution with process improvement, using automation and AI to make internal operations more efficient and effective. Working closely with the People Operations Lead and teams across the organization, you will help establish thoughtful, repeatable systems that can scale with growth. This is a high-ownership opportunity with meaningful scope to shape the future of the People function and grow into broader people partnering responsibilities.

Accountabilities
  • Own the operational backbone of onboarding, including offer circulation, background checks, device ordering, provisioning, pre-start communications, and the employee experience through the first weeks.
  • Continuously improve onboarding processes as hiring cohorts and organizational needs grow, ensuring a consistent and engaging employee experience.
  • Manage and streamline offboarding processes, ensuring departing employees receive clear information, resources, and support throughout their transition.
  • Own and optimize the Rippling Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including configuration, workflows, integrations, and data integrity.
  • Build AI-enabled systems and automation that simplify recurring People Operations activities and improve efficiency across the team.
  • Identify repetitive manual work and transform it into documented, standardized, and scalable processes.
  • Support the development and administration of people programs, including performance reviews, career leveling, recognition, and related initiatives.
  • Administer benefits and employment changes across a United States Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements in Portugal and Canada.
  • Execute people policies and compliance processes, including immigration and work authorization requirements, ensuring accurate and timely administration across multiple countries.
  • Partner with managers and internal stakeholders on people-related processes and contribute to the evolution of the broader People function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee and manager experiences while maintaining operational accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or Human Resources Operations, ideally within a company that has built and scaled its people infrastructure rapidly.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and optimizing Rippling or a comparable modern HRIS, including configuring workflows, maintaining data integrity, and implementing automation.
  • Strong ability to take ownership, work independently, solve unfamiliar problems, and turn ideas into completed initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and move quickly in a changing environment.
  • Comfortable working on complex, ambiguous problems and building processes and systems where established solutions do not yet exist.
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple countries and working with PEO and EOR employment models, ideally involving the European Union, United Kingdom, and Canada.
  • Genuine interest in developing toward people partnering, with the ability and motivation to support managers and build broader Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) experience over time.
  • Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application to internal operations, with fluency in using AI tools in day-to-day work.
  • Direct experience in people partnering or manager coaching is a plus.
  • Exposure to immigration processes such as H-1B transfers, PERM, or work permit transfers is a plus.
Benefits
  • Base salary of $150,000-$180,000 USD.
  • Equity opportunities.
  • Remote work within the United States, with preference for candidates aligned with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
  • Opportunity to design and build People Operations systems rather than simply inherit existing processes.
  • Broad exposure across onboarding, systems, compliance, benefits, and people programs.
  • Opportunity to help shape and scale the People function within a rapidly growing organization.
  • Meaningful opportunity to expand into people partnering and manager support as the organization grows.
