Job summary

Cognition AI in San Francisco is building Devin and growing rapidly. We are hiring to own and scale People Operations from the ground up, covering onboarding, benefits, compensation, compliance, and employee relations.

You will also own our immigration program end to end and solve meaningful problems as the company grows. Expect to design scalable HR infrastructure, develop playbooks and policies, and collaborate with Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, Recruiting, and external vendors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in people operations or HR at a fast-growing startup or tech company.
• Strong end-to-end People Operations experience across benefits, immigration, compliance, systems, and employee operations.
• Experience in a fast-growing startup or technology company with high-velocity priorities.
• Strong first-principles thinking and a can-do attitude; able to break down ambiguous problems.
• Strong data-driven, analytical, and program management skills; able to drive cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve our People systems and operational infrastructure for accuracy, scalability, and effectiveness.
• Design the systems that make People Operations scalable, including tracking, playbooks, checklists, and documentation.
• Lead benefits operations and administration with brokers, vendors, payroll, Finance, and employees to deliver quality benefits in the US and internationally.
• Build and manage our compliance infrastructure across multi-state and international workforces.
• Develop and maintain employee policies and our handbook, balancing compliance with Cognition’s culture.
• Bring an operational lens to business decisions by surfacing risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
• Partner with Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, Recruiting, and vendors to execute People programs accurately and seamlessly.
• Use data and operational insights to identify issues and proactively improve programs.
• Jump into high-priority People and business projects as Cognition scales.
